Sailed ; Taranaki, for the North, at 3.30 p.m. Passengers for Wellington: Messrs. Saul and Hill. The p. s. Titan left this afternoon to search for the wreck of the schooner Clan Alpine. AUCKLAND, Tuesday. Sailed; Taupo, for the South, at C p.m. Passengers for Gisborne —Messrs. Cooper and Green. For Napier—Mr. and Mrs. Biggum, Mrs. Constable, Messrs. Ballin and Crapp. For Wellington—Messrs. Benner, Harding, Burrett, Lusk, Mendelsohn, Mrs. Garllek, and Messrs. Harley and Wilcox. For Lyttelton — Messrs. Tomlinson, Farr, Melton, Leonard, Mr, and Airs. Jones, and Major and Mrs. George. For Otago—Mr. Thatcher and Miss Clarke. The s.s. Napier arrived in port from Blenheim at 6 a.m. yesterday. She left there the previous afternoon at 5 o’clock; crossed the bar at 11 p.m., and experienced strong N.W. winds, with smooth water, across the Strait She sailed for Blenheim this morning. The s.s. Tui sailed for Kaikoura and Lyttelton at C. 30 p.m, vesterday. The westerly gale still prevents the Orari from coming up to the wharf. The Walroa will, as soon as clear of her cargo, go on the Patent Slip to be cleaned, &c. Owing to the boisterous state of the weather no communication could be held by the Health Officers with the ship Zealandia yesterday. A boat containing fresh provisions got over to the Island early in the morning, and all was then doing well there. The p.s. Manawatu is expected here from Wanganui this morning. The s.s. Jane Douglas arrived in port at midnight on Monday from Rangitikei, after a very rough trip. She was bar-bound there for five days by heavy westerly gales. The Taranaki, from the South, will he here to-day. She will go North to-morrow. The s.s. Storrablrd 1 arrived in port from Wanganui at 2 a.m. yesterday. She left there the previous afternoon at 1 o’clock, and experienced a heavy W.N.W gale with high beam sea throughout. The Storrnbird will sail again for Wanganui on Saturday. The Union Co.'a s.s. Hawea reached port from the Manukau, via intermediate ports, at 8.45 a.m. yesterday. She left the Manukau at 10.30 a.m. on the 2Cth, was off Taranaki the next morning, and the fol. lowing morning entered Nelson. Sailed at 1 p.m. on the 29th, and arrived at Picton after a seven hours' run ; got away again al 4 a.m. yesterday, and arrived here as above stated. She sailed for Lyttelton and Port Chalmers at 5.15 p.m. yesterday. The barque Schiehallion has now nearly half her cargo on board for Loudon. She is expected to be despatched about the.end of next week. -
