The Daily News’ correspondent with the Ozarewich’s army says that one week’s rain has converted the camp into a lake of mud, and the roads, except between Biela and Rustchuk, have been rendered impassable. The troops are unprepared for winter, having lost their tents and great coats on the retreat from the Lom. Inverary Castle (Scotland) has been destroyed by fire. October 12, 7.30 p.m. Marshal MacMahon denies that the Republic is imperilled by clerical influence, and urges the electors to return candidates nominated by Government.
