SUPREME COURT.
CRIMINAL SITTINGS. Wednesday, October 3. (Befor his Honor Mr. Justice Richmond.) arson. The jnring haviug failed to agree in the case against Daniel Haggerty for arson, they were discharged, and a fresh trial ordered for the present sitting of the Court. EMBEZZLEMENT. Harold Bay pleaded guilty to the above charge, and was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment. MURDER. Mary Arm Trueman stood charged with the murder of a male infant on the 27th August last. Prisoner pleaded not guilty, and was defended by Mr. Travers. The evidence was similar to that given in the case against the daughter of the prisoner. The jury returned a verdict of not guilty, and the accused was discharged. SENTENCE. Mary Leonard Mudgway, who was found guilty of concealment of birth, was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment. The Court then rose. The charge of arson against Daniel Haggerty will be heard this (Thursday) morning.
