LATEST WAR NEWS. (REUTER'S SPECIAL TO PRESS AGENCY.) IThc following telegram received from the AgentGeneral was published by the New Zealand Times as an extra yesterday.} London, September 14. After four days’ cannonade, Levusin redoubt, before Plevna, was taken by the Russians. There was heavy slaughter. Five thousand Russians were wounded. The number of killed is not yet estimated. Plevna is still held by the Turks, and Sulieman Pasha is advancing on Gabrova. The Czarewitoh's army was driven back on Biela by Mehemet AH. The independence of Roumania was proclaimed by Prince Charles, whose forces, commanded by him, behaved with great gallantry before Plevna.

Forty of Ilia officers and privates, decorated by the Czar, present at battle, were on the platform. Nicksich has been taken by the Montenegrins, with a battery of gnus and war material.

On the Czar’s birthday the Austrian Emperor drank the health of his dear friend the Czar.
