It is claimed for this wire that it is-much stronger and tougher than ordinary fencing wire, and is, iu consequence, more durable. That No. 8 can be substituted for No. 6 at an equal cost; No. 10 for No. 8 at a less cost; and so on to all the numbers used in fencing. An immense boon is thus conferred upon the consumer, who has to carry his wire inland. He may take ten tons of the patent prepared extra strong fencing wire, instead of fifteen tons of the ordinary iron wire, make a better fence, and save in carriage from port to stations at least five tons in weight.
