Bombay, September 5,12.30 p.m. The Turks have evacuated Sukhum Kaleh. The Russians have taken Lovatz. The Daily News states that the Russians were victorious at Plevna on the 31st August, and that the Turkish loss there was 2000. Sydney, Thursday. The result of the races was telegraphed from the racecourse to-day as follows; Free Handicap.—Dockwood, 1 ; Womba, 2; A.T., 3. The Craven Plate was easily won by Robinson Crusoe ; Salisbury, 2 ; Viva, 3. President’s Handicap.—Eva, 1 ; Deacon, 2 ; Rangatira, 3. Mares' Produce Stakes.—Chester, 1; Woodlands, 2 ; Cap-a-pie, 3. This was a fine race.
