' NOTICE is hereby given that the following By-law will come into force on and after MONDAY NEXT,' the 10th instant Any person guilty of any of the following offences, omissions, or neglect, on the streets (either public or private), lanes, or alleys of the city, shall on conviction be liable to a penalty not exceeding £5. 1. Driving any vehicle or riding any horse at other than a walking pace round or across any corner, angle, or, intersection of any of the streets or public thoroughfares. 2. Permitting any carts, drays, or waggons, to remain standing longer on any street or roadway than the time absolutely necessary for loading or unloading goods, or permitting the horses in any such carts, drays, or waggons, if they . are fed during the process of such loading or unloading, to be so fed otherwise than by nosebags. 3. Wheeling trucks or wheelbarrows on the footpath, or walking on the footpath when carrying planks, iron bars, ladders, or other cumbrous articles. By order. WM.
