REGISTRATION OF DOGS.
TO THE EDITOR OP THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sir, —I notice in the police reports that a question was raised as to whether a man must register his dog here in Wellington which had been registered in Auckland. If you refer to the New Zealand Statutes you will see a clause passed during last session, and now the law of the land, which reads as follows : “Dog licenses shall be in force throughout the colony, and the onus of proving that i a license fee has been paid for any dog shall attach to its owner.” This is to be found in the Financial Arrangements Act, 1876, which is scarcely where you would look for it.—X am, &c., Research.
