CRICKET.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES,
Sir, —As the cricket season will shortly be announced by our local clubs it is highly desirable that steps should be taken to call together the members of the Cricket Association, for the purpose of appointing a strong and influential committee to reorganise the same. I need hardly say that last season there was an absence of esprit de corps among our players in the match against Nelson. It is to be hoped a better system will prevail this forthcoming season, and instead of waiting for clubs such as Au'cklaud, Christchurch, and Dunedin to send round a team, that Wellington will come to the front and see what she can do in the same direction with regard to her cricketers. I hear it is the desire of two or three of our most indefatigable members to submit a new set of rules for the association. This is much needed. Let us therefore have a place for everything, and everything in its proper place ; if not, between two stools we come to the ground.—l am, &c., Sussex.
