Arrived : Ringarooma, from Bluff; Wanaka, from Lyttelton. Sailed : Pomona, ship, for Portland, Oregon; Ringarooma, for North. ’ AUCKLAND, Tuesday. Sailed ; Oceola, brigantine, for Newcastle. ; The steamers Rotorua and Hero left for Sydney together. Considerable interest is taken in the trip. The p.s. Lyttelton arrived from Blenheim yesterday at 5 a.m., having left there the previous evening. She will sail for Blenheim and Nelson at 10 a.m. today. . The Union Company's s.s Taranaki, Captain Malcolm. from Southern ports, arrived in port yesterday at 1.30 p.m. She left Port Chalmers at 6.30 p.m. on the 26th instant, and arrived in Lyttelton at 7 a.m. on the 26th. Sailed again at 7.10 p.m. on the 27th, and experienced a strong bead wind till arrival here as above stated. The Taranaki will sail for Napier, Gisborne, Tauranga, and Auckland at noon to-day.. The s.s. Ringarooma, from Melbourne, via the South, will arrive here to-morrow morning. She will sail for Nelson at midnight. The schooner Star of the Sea and the ketches .Thames and Elizabeth arrived in port from Pelorus Sound timber-laden yesterday afternoon. The s.s. Kennedy, from Nelson and West (’oast ports, will arrive here this morning. She is expected to leave to-morrow evening for the same ports. The p.s; Luna, from Lyttelton, had not shown up at a late hour last night. She left there at 7 p.m. on Monday with nearly 200 tons cargo on board for this port and the West Coast., It is expected she .will leave to-day for Westport and Greymouth. The Government steamer Stella arrived in port from her trip North yesterday morning. She left here on the 4th inst., and called at all the lighthouses in the Strait. Thence went to Onehunga, loaded with timber and lighthouse stuff, and went north to Cape Maria Van Diemen, but owing to bad weather'was unable to do any work for eight days. After being there for twelve days went back to the Manukau and took on board another load of material, left there on Friday morning last, and arrived at Cape Maria Van Diemen next morning. At dark same day .had. put out all her cargo, and left for this port. Called in at Taranaki on Monday morning, and stayed there till noon. The Stella was taking in stores yesterday for The Brothers, Cape Farewell, Cape Campbell, and Mana. She was expected to sail thither early this morning. The s.s. Napier left Blenheim at 7 a.m. yesterday, and made a 7 hours'passage across. Experienced a strong N.W. wind across. The Napier will sail again for Blenheim at midnight to-night. The Union Co.'s s.s. Taupo left Auckland on the 24th inst. at 5 p.m., called at Tauranga, Gisborne, and Napier, and left the latter place at noon on’ the 27th, and arrived in port at 8.30 a.m. yesterday.. At 11 a.m. she went round to Evans Bay and had her compasses adjusted. The Taupo will sail for Manukau, via intermediate ports, to-day at 8 a.m. The s.s. Stormbird arrived in port from Napier at 2.30 p.m yesterday. She left Napier at 8.30 a.m. on Monday, rounded the Kidnappers two hours afterwards. Castlepoint at I a.m. yesterday, and Cape Palliser at 10 a.m., arriving here as above. Captain Doile reports sighting the barquentine Falcon, boumV from Newcastle to Napier. The Stormbird was detained three days In Napier through the bad state of the bar. While the Stormbird was there the Kiwi; from this port, and Southern Cross, from Auckland, were outside unable to get in. Eight feet three inches of water was on the bar at high water. ;The Stormbird will sail for Wanganui this afternoon. ■ ,
