[The following telegram was received at the New Zealand Times office at ten minutes past three o’clock this morning];— Bombay, August 19,1.44. Sulieman Bey is at Iliana, north of the Balkans. Salonika is in a state of siege. Poti has been deserted. Hobart Pasha is at Sinope, Turkey is increasing her army. London, August 19, 5.47. The Queensland mails were delivered on the 11th, and the San Francisco mails on the Isth, Sailed—The Chimborazo, on the 13th ; and Durham, on the 19th. Bombay, August 20, 7.43. Skirmishes have taken place in the vicinity of Rustchuk. A Turkish official account states that a detachment from the garrison repulsed the. Russians. The Turkish forces are near the Dobrudscha, and the Russians are advancing against them. Sydney, Monday. ' Samoan news states that' a fight has taken place between the two parties contending for supremacy in the island. The Government party, however, proved victorious.
