Owing lo some of the furnaces of one of the hollers giving -way the vessel had to come under easy steam during ihe last 28 hours of the voyage. She brings the Soldene comic opera troupe, numbering thirty-two. The New Zealand passengers per 'Australia are—' Messrs. Young and Thompson for Wellington," Mr. Owen and .wife for Lyttelton, and sixteen steerage. There ate one hundred passengers for Australia. . Sailed: Hawea, with the Frisco mall. Experienced light N.E. winds and rain squalls. The Napier will sail for Blenheim to-morrow morning.. A large number of vessels sailed during Saturday and Sunday. They included the Malay for Hobarton, City of Madras ,for Astoria, Robina Dunlop for Ba : tavia, and Robin Hood for Newcastle., The Union Company’s s.s. Wanaka, Captain McGil livray, arrived in port from Auckland, via the East Coast, at 10 a.m. yesterday.. She left Auckland at 5 p.m. on the Bth, and arrived at Tanranga at daylight on the 9th: sailed again at 2 p.m.,same day, and.arrived at Gisborne at',lo a,m, on thelOth; left again at 5 p.m. on theilth; sailed at noon same day, and arrived here as above. . We are indebted to Mr. L. Hart for files and reports. The Wanaka will sail for the Mannkan, via intermediate ports, at 8 o’clock on Wednesday morning. '! The S 3. Stormbir'd-sailed for Wanganui at 4 p.m. on Saturday, and the Tut went lo Foxton same after-, noon at 8 o’clock. ' The s.s. Taranaki, from Southern ports, arrived here at 9 a.m. on Saturday. She left Port Chalmers at 4 p.ra. on the Bth instant, and arrived at Lyttelton at 8,30 a.m. next day; left again at 3.30 p.m. # on Friday. arriving as above. The ‘Taranaki, sailed for Northern ports-at 2.30 p.m on Saturday. The s.s. Kiwi arrived from the-East Coast at 12.30 p.m. yesterday. , She-left Napier at 3 p.ra. ©n Saturday, and called in at Blackhead and landed cargo. The -Kiwi will probably sail {mdayforitho'East Coast. The p.s.Luna is expected to sail for the Weft Coast to-morrow, -‘J ■ ■( - The Tararua. to judge by telegrams, has been de.tained at Port Chalmers till Saturday, last. She is expected to arrive here to-morrow; ■ The p s, Manawatn arrived in port yesterday morning at 0 o’clock. She left Wanganui on ’ Thursday last at 0.80 p.m.;;crossed the bar at 10 p.m., a heavy sea running at the time, and made Stephen’s Island at 10.30 next morning. Went round-the Island in search of.the Queen-Bee's boats; but finding no tracer of them there steamed over to Port Hardy. Cruised round the harbor, but nothing of the boats could be seen; thence went along the coast; and when about'a mile past N 1 e Head saw a boat and its crew ashore. Went in ami communicated with those on shore, and’ found them to be the captain and eleven of the crew of the Queen Bee. Took them on board at 2 p.m., and then-headed for Nelson, arriving butddeat 10(30" same night; came inside at 6 o’clock next morning; and took in eight tons coal; left again at 8 o’clock: proceeded along Cape Farewell spit, and passed close to the wreck at 4 p.m. . It was low water at the time, and the ship was’showing about eight feet of side. There were several small craft about her, picking up the cargo which was being thrown overboard by people on board the wreck. She looked-quite sound, and showed no signs of breaking np Whatever. The Manawatn passed Stevens Island at 9 o’clock on Saturday night, and arrived in port,as above-men-, tioned. She is expected to"sail for Foxton to-day.
