Sb© has made the passage in 82 days from anchor to -anchor, and 79 days from land to land. She left Deal on 3laylC, and Plymouth on May 19. She had fine weather to Kerguelen’s Land. Crossed the Equator on June IS, and the meridian of the Cape on July 10, ’Made the Snares on August 6. She brings 50 passengers, all • well. Sailed : Taupo, South, at Sp.m.—Taranaki,North, at 7 p.m. Passengers for ‘Wellington : Mrs. Laranze, Messrs. Innes, Brand, and J. Davison. For Nelson: Messrs. Aitken, Tanner, Strong, W. J. Reeves, Miss Reeves. For Napier: Captain'anff For Manukau: Mr. J. C. Gould.-—for Welling- i ton via Kaikonra. The Taranaki, from the South, will arrive here this forenoon. She will go North at midnight. The Manawatu, from Wanganui, will be here this morning. The a.«. Napier,got away for Blenheim.yesterday morning shortly after S o'clock. She is expected back here on Friday, The Luna is now on the Patent Slip receiving repairs. . The schooner Cynthia sailed for Picton yesterday. Also the Rose of Eden for the same port. The inquiry into the collision between the schooner Herald and steamer Luna was continued all yesterday. Voluminous evidence was taken, but nothing of any interest to the public was elicited. The ships Endymion and Glenlyon, from London, * have been berthed at the wharf, and will commence discharging probably to-day. The ship City of Madras hauled away from the wharf yesterday after finishing ballasting. She has cleared oat for Astoria, and will sail during tho week. The schooner Ruby, with a full cargo Of produce, arrived here yesterday from Kaikoura, having left there at 11 o'clock the previous day. ' The following vessels have arrived at London from Melbourne:—Essex, Cardigan Castle, Loch Long (?). From Sydney: Broekley Castle, Duke of Sutherland. From Wellington; Adamant and Rakaia. • From Dunedin : fiurunni and Waltara. From Lyttelton; 3lay Queen. The barque Carlotta arrived in harbor at 8 o’clock last night from Newcastle, with 405 tons of coal on board for ‘ Messrs/. Beck and ■ Tonks. She left Newcastle on the 28th Instant, and had a aeries of N.W. and S.W. winds for-several days. Thence the wind hauled into the 3;W., and continued till making the land on the morning of the 7th instant, when it came on .'from the N.W. and blew hard, bringing the barque off Terawiti. Here the wind went into the S.E;, blowing a gale, and drove the barque back through the Strait. Subsequently the wind changed into the, N. W. ami took her off the Heads yesterday morning. She arrived here as above. ; f
