WELLINGTON WHARF CHARGES.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE NSW ZEALAND TIMES. Sir,—l think it is high time that attention was drawn to the black mail levied on travellers at Wellington wharf. . This afternoon I left the Metropolitan Hotel with a friend, to proceed South by the s.s. Taupo. We took a cab from the hotel, and alighting at the Telegraph Office, sent the cab on with our luggage to the steamer. This luggage consisted only of a small portmanteau and an opposaum rug, and for conveying these along the wharf from one end to the other we were charged four shillings in addition to the shilling fare for ourselves to the Telegraph Office. Surely this is a gross imposition.—l am, &0., Wm. J. Steward.
