Wanaka at noon yesterday, The Wanaka went to Auckland via the East Coast.' The barque Ocean Chief left the harbor yesterday afternoon for Lyttelton. As there was a light head wind blowing, she would probably bring up in Worser Bay. The pA. Manawatu ought to be found in port this morning from Wanganui, having left there at 1 o’clock yesterday afternoon, She will leave again for Wanganui this evening. . Messrs. McMeckan and Blackwood’s steamer EingaTooma, haying the -New Zealand portion of the European mail via Suez on board, 42 passengers, and 159 tons of cargo for Wellington, arrived at 7 a.m. yesterday. She left "Hobson’s Bay at 5.29 p.m.’, New Zealand time, on the 23rd; cleared the land at 5.39 next day, had light N.W. winds and fair weather across, passed the Solanderat 5 p.m. on the 27th, and arrived at the Bluff at 10 p.m., after a smart passage of four days five hours. Landed 100 tons cargo and passengers; and left at 4.30 p.m., had light northerly winds and fine weather up, and arrived at Port Chalmers at 7 a.m. on the 29th; discharged 170 tons cargo, and sailed again at 3.45 on the 80th; arrived at Lyttelton at 8 a.m. on the 31st: left at 3.45 p.m. same day, and arrived in harbor asabove stated. We thank Mr. Chatfleld, purser, for flies, dec. The Ringarooma sailed for Nelson kt midnight.; The s.s. Tui left Foxton at 2 p.m. yesterday, and arrived in harbor at 11 o’clock last night. She will sail again for Foxton this evening. The Government steamer Stella, Captain Bendall, from a lighthouse cruise South, arrived in port yesterday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Captain Bendall reports leaving Wellington on the 28th June at ,5-30 a.m.*. arrived at the Brothers at 9,15, and sailed again for Lyttelton at 11 a.m.; arrived at Godley Head at 4 am. and anchored at daylight. Found too much sea to land cargo at the lighthouse, so had to proceed to Lyttelton and lard it there; shipped a quantity of tanks for lighthouse contractors, and sailed for Dunedin at 6 p.m. Experienced strong head wind and heavy sea until after rounding Banks Peninsnla. Arrived at Port Chalmers at 4 p.m. on the 30th, landed lighthouse material for Moeraki lighthouse and a quantity of ammunition, and shipped lighthouse lantern and apparatus for Centre Island ; left Port Chalmers at 3.30 p.m. on 3rd July, called at Taiaroa Head and Nugget Point lighthouses, and arrived at the Bluff at 7.30 p.m. on 4th July, having had strong Eonth-w-est winds and heavy sea. Called four times at Centre Island and twice at Puysegur Point, and landed a quantity of timber and building materials, horses, bullocks, and drays for lighthouse contractors there ; landed stores twice at Dog Island, and finally left Blntf on the 29th nltimo at about 11 a.m.; called off Nugget Point, but owing to a heavy north-east swell was not able to land ; arrived alongside Port Chalmers wharf at 1 a.m. on Monday, shipped some packages for Defence Office, and sailed at 2 p.m.; on arrival at Taiaroa Head found signal hoisted “ Bar dangerous,’’ the sea breaking right across tho entrance; waited till about 3 p.m., when signal was hauled down, and then crossed the bar; rounded Cape Campbell at 9 p.m. on the 31st, and anchored under Cape Koamaraat 1 o'clock yesterday morning, and at 7 a. m. proceeded to The Brothers; landed stores and left again at 10a.m., arriving here as above-stated. The finalarrangeraentsfor theoompietionof the purchase of the s.s. Napier by Messrs. Fell Bros, from W, 3s G. Turnbull and Co. were completed yesterday. The Napier went round to the Slip yesterday to have a new propeller shipped, and will come off this afternoon, and most probably sail for Blenheim on Saturday morning. Captain Henry Fisk, formerly of the Falcon, will take charge of the Napier in her new trade, and Mr. Coles, mate of the Falcon, will hold a similar position on board the Napier, The Falcon, which has been so long and successfully running in the Blenheim trade, will only, it is expected, make one more trip to that port, and then be placed in some other trade on the coast. We trust that Messrs. Fell Bros, will be as successful wit!) their handy little steamer Napier as she has been with her late owners, and that the trade which they have established between Wellington and Blenheim will continue to flicrease, for their enterprise deserves nothing less. The ketches Reliance and Unity, the former for Pelorus Sound and the latter forPicton, sailed yesterday, and the brigantine Hannah Broomfield for Kaiparaand Excelsior for Wanganui, got under way at Worser Bay and commenced beating out yesterday. When the Tui was coming up the harbor last night she passed several small craft at anchor, which will most probably be some of the above-mentioned vessels. There was also a barque lying at the entrance, most likely the Ocean Chief. ENGLISH SHIPPING. The following is a list of passengers per Messrs.
