WRITTEN TENDERS will be received at tbis office up to NOON on WEDNESDAY, the 15th A (JOUST, 1877, for the supply and delivery of 10,000 RAILWAY SLEEPERS, to be delivered at any of the Railway Stations between Clinton and Invercargill, for the In-vercargill-Kingston Railway. They must be addressed to the Hon, the Minister for Public Works, and marked outside “ Tender for Railway Sleepers, Invercargill-Kingston Railway, (Western Railways!.” Specifications may be seen at the Public Works Offices, Dunedin, Invercargill, and Wellington. Telegraphic tenders, similarly addressed and marked, will be received if presented at any Telegraph Office by NOON of the same date, provided that written tenders in due form are lodged at a District or Resident Engineer's Office by the same hour, and accompanied by a cheque on some bank in the town where the tender is lodged; such cheque to be specially marked by a banker as good for one month, and to be in favor of the Receiver-General’s Deposit Account only, and not to bearer or order. Engineer-in-Chief’s Office, Adelaide, 25th June, 1877. TENDERS will be received at this office up to Noon on MONDAY, the Ist OCTOBER, for the construction of a line of railway between Port Augusta and the Government Gums, being a distance of 200 miles or thereabouts. Plans and specifications can be seen at this office on and after Monday, the 30th July, andat the office of the New Zealand Times, Wellington, on and after Monday, the 13th August. Each tender must be accompanied by a bank deposit receipt for £IOOO in favor of the Hon. Commissioner of Railways. Neither the lowest nor any tender necessarily accepted. H. C. MAIS, Engineer-in-Chief. NOTICE. LEASING OF THE SPIT FERRY, NAPIER. TENDERS are invited from those desirous of leasing the Ferry from the Eastern to the Western Spit for a term of five years. The lessee will have to provide a steam launch to carry not less than twenty passengers. The ferryman will have to be in attendance from sunrise to sunset daily (Sundays included). Launch to run every half hour if required. The lessee to provide a suitable punt, capable of carrying over a team of bullocks and dray. , The launch to have sufficient power to tow punt across when required. Specifications to be seen at the office of the Board’s Engineer, Napier, of whom full particulars can be obtained. The whole of the above to be subject to approval of the Harbor Board or their Engineer. Tenders must be sent in not later than 11 a.m. on AUGUST the 7th, 1877, addressed to the Chairman of the Napier Harbor Board, and marked “ Tender for Ferry.” The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.
