Sailed: Taranaki, for North," at 3.40 p.m. Rotorua, for South, at 6 p.m.—Torea, for Kaipara. The inclement state of the weather yesterday prevented the vessels lying at the wharf from either loading or discharging, consequently the steamers Manawatu for Wanganui, and Easby for Sydney and Newcastle, were unable to get away at their advertised time. The Easby is expected to leave to-day at 10 am., and the Manawatu at Bp.m. The wet weather of yesterday prevented the Tui from coming off the slip. It is. however, expected that she will come off in lime to sail for Kaikoura and Lyttelton this afternoon. w , . * The s.s. Stormbird will sail for Napier at noon today. . The s s. Arawata, from Melbourne,, via the South, is timed to arrive here to-morrow morning. The s.s. Wanaka got away for Lyttelton and Port Chalmers at 5.15 p.m. yesterday. m ' .. The sailing o! the s.s. Napier has been further postponed till to-day. _ The barque Primera arrived in port from Lyttelton yesterday forenoon. She left Lyttelton on Sunday morning, had strong S.W. wind, and the weather being very thick on arriving off Cape Campbell hoveto for four hours and awaited daylight, when the barque was put on her course again, arriving eff th» Heads at 9 a.m. yesterday, and anchoring at 10 a.m. The'Primera has 200 tons produce .from Lyttelton. Shells announced by the N.Z.S. Co. as on the berth to load for London. • _ - •,. ,The s.s. St. Kilda will sail for the South this afternoon. , ■ ‘ . The following vessels have arrived at Loudon from Melbourne :—Myrtle and Horme. . . The New Zealand Shipping Company have received advices by the last mail respecting the homeward passage of their ship Otaki, from which the following facts are gleaned. The Otakldeft Port Chalmers at 4 p.m. on March 11, and for the four succeeding days had calm weather, no progress being made. At the expiration of that time a fair,wind sprang up. and Cape Horn was rounded 22 days out. The ship arrived off the Land’s End on May 17, and at the docks two days later. The passage was therefore made in 63 days from land to land, allowing for the four days that the ship was off Otago Heads, and 69 days from Port Chalmers to the London Docks. Captain Millman, her fcommander, seems to have been quite as popular with his passengers on the passage Home as he was oh his voyage out to this port in the Waipa.— Lyttelton Times. . .
