A COMPLAINT.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sir, —Seeing in your paper a notice of a meeting of the Permanent Equitable Building and Investment Society of Wellington on Friday, 3rd August, wherein it states that any member intending to offer himself for a new director must give fourteen days’ notice in writing before he could be eligible for a director, I think this is all very well when due notice is given ; but three clear days is not sufficient to give notice of a meeting for the purpose of obtaining the chance of being one. Some very good men there are who could be found to fill the vacancies, that have to visit country districts, to attend to business matters, and so are not in a position to make claim to be one before the time has expired.—l am, &c., Interested,
