(REUTER'S SPECIAL TO PRESS AGENCY.) London, July 14.' An American four per cent, funding loan of £140,000,000 is announced. Wheat is firm. Next wool sales commence on 14th August. The new arrivals are admissable. The sale will be restricted to 300,000 bales, exclusive of 60,000 held over. The market is quiet. Some heavy failures in Yorkshire are reported. The following telegram has been received by the Government from the Agent-General:— London, July 16. The siege of Kars has been abandoned. The Russian operations in Armenia have been unsuccessful. The Turks have been victorious at various points. The Russian operations in Bulgaria are progressing slowly. Great cruelties, inflicted by Christians on Moslems, are reported, their arms having been taken from the latter and given by the Russians to the Christians. The Bank rate is reduced to two per cent.
