Lieutenant-Colonel St. Hill, formerly A.D.C. to General Cameron, has arrivad as private secretary to Governor Weld. Dr. Sommerville’s lectures were attended by large crowds. Recently over 2000 personsin one night were unable to obtain admission. The revenue of the colony for the past year was £4,514,121, showing an increase of £188,964 on previous year. Sir W. Jervois has been seriously indisposed, but is now recovering. The Government is arranging for a Cape route service. They have reopened negotiations with Green, of Blaokwall line. Oats very firm, extreme rates obtained.
