Corporation Notices CITY COUNCIL. RECLAMATION OP TE ARO FORESHORE. PUBLIC MEETING. WHEREAS the City Council, by resolution dated the 21st day of JUNE, 1877, _ have agreed, subject to ratification by a majority of the Burgesses, to proceed with the reclamation of that portion of the To Aro Eoreshore vested in the Mayor and Burgesses of the City, by Crown Grant No. 3866, and containing an area of 70 acres : AND WHEREAS the proposed reclamamation will require a sum, estimated at One Hundred Thousand Pounds (£100,060), to carry the works connected therewith to completion, it is necessary to raise the above-men-tioned sum of £IOO,OOO by . way of special loan, with- power to levy a special rate as, a guarantee for payment of interest thereon, and for the creation of a sinking fund for gradual repayment of the said principal sum : I HEREBY call a MEETING of the BURGESSES of, the CITY, to be held in the POLYTECHNIC HALL, on MONO AY, the 23rd day of JULY, 1877, at 8 o’clock p.m., for the purpose of the due consideration and discussion of the above proposal, and for agreeing to the same, if the meeting shall so determine. A PLAN of the PROPOSED RECLAMATION may be seen at the Council office ; and this notification is made, and the Public Meeting called, in terms of Part X. of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1876. Notice is hereby given that the City Council I Wellington intend, at their next ordinary nr- ting, on THURSDAY, the 19th day of JULY, IST7, to make a Water-rate for a period of nine months, from the first day of July, 1877, to the 31st day of March, 1878, and that the said Rate, when made, shall be due and payable on the Ist day of August next.
