FRENCH POLITICS. Singapore, June 4,11.40 a.m. Peace rumors continue. The Danube is falling rapidly. Active operations are going on at Kars. Greece is doubling her army and summoning her reserves. London, June 3, 2.12 p.m. The Brindisi mails were delivered on the Hthult. Large failures are expected on the Stock Exchange on the day of settlement. Fifty creations have been made under the Order of St. Michael and St. George. The arrivals are the Orient and the Raugitikei. Bombay, June 3. It is reported that Russia is anxious to make peace after her first victory, in order to prevent European complications. In Frauce, Gambetta, in replying to an address, counselled moderation, and alluded to the contingency of Marshall MacMahon's resigning the Presidency of the Republic, in which case he approved of Thiers succeeding.
