Auctions TUESDAY, sth JUNE. AUCTION SALE. TOWN BELT LEASES Nearly 1000 acres Land, divided into 59 Sections. ME. K. ,T. DUNCAN baa been favored with instructions from his Worship the Mayor and City Council, to sell by public auction, at his salerooms, Panama-street, on Tuesday, sth Juue, commencing at 11.30 a.m.— The Town Belt Leases of the City of Wellington, for a term of 14 years, Comprising nearly 1000 acres, in 59 lots. Lithographed plans, containing full particulars of the area of each lot, and printed conditions of sale, may he had on application at the office of the auctioneer. The sale will commence punctually at 11.30 a.m. Purchasers are required to pay immediately on the fall of the hammer the first-half year’s rent in advance. The purchaser also to sign an agreement admitting that he has become the purchaser for the lot set opposite his name, at the yearly rental mentioned in the schedule attached to the conditions of sale. Each Lessee shall covenant not to assign, underlet, or part with the demised premises without the Lessors consent in writing. No buildings are to be erected on any part of the property. The Lessors reserve out of each lease a right to the inhabitants of the City to enter and walk through or over the demised land for the purpose of recreation ; but uo person exercising such right by reason of such reservation shall be freed from liability for wilful damage. Possession will he given to each Lessee on the first day of July next. POSTPONEMENT OF SALE BY AUCTION OF THE TOWN BELT LEASES. ME. K. J. DUNCAN has b<en favored with instructions from James Gilligan, Esq., of the Taueru, Wairarapa, to offer for sale by auction, at his salerooms in Wellington, on an early date, of which due notice will be given—■ A BLOCK OF LAND IN THE WAIEAEAPA DISTRICT, Distant about four miles from the flourishing township of Masterton, consisting of—--1000 acres really magnificent land, equal to any of the far-famed Waimate Plains on the West Coast, being all of limestone formation, suitable either for market gardeners or small farmers. The property will be divided into about fifty allotments, containing twenty acres, more or less, each. This extremely desirable and valuable property is well known as the “ Maungahina,” and comprises land that has been held in the hands of the natives from time immemorial, and has always been highly esteemed by the Maoris throughout the district as the beat place tor growing their food from year to year.
