(REUTER'S SPECIAL TO PRESS AGENCY.) London, 19 th May. The resignation of the French Ministry was owing to a complaint by President McMahon that M. Jules Simon left undefended (sic) Conservative Press laws which the Chamber had repealed. A Fight Centre Ministry has been formed under the Presidency of the Due de Broglio. The Due de Cazes as Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Bethaul, the Minister for War, remain in the new Ministry. A message from President McMahon to the Chamber states that as two Ministries had failed to uphold Conservative principles, and as he cannot associate with Radicals, he is resolved to maintain the status quo until ISBO. The excitement in Paris has calmed down. LONDON WOOL SALES. The Loan and Mercantile Agency report, under date London, 18th May ;—The wool competition is increasing ; quotations on an average a half-penny to a penny better than at the opening. The principal advance is in superior greasy and superior combing washed ; crossbred and scoured unchanged. Seedy and burry wools are neglected. Up to date 58,000 bales have been sold.
