It is expected that if the wind is favorable she will sail this morning. . . . The steamer Itansatlra arrived in port from Napier and Poverty Bay shortly after 12 o'clock yesterday, with a large number of passengers and a full cargo. She left Napier at noon the previous day, and had fine weather with light southerly wind down. The Kangatira will sail for Napier direct at noon to-day. The Kiwi returned from another East Coast trip yesterday, arriving in port at 3.30 p.m. She-left Napier on the 17th at 6.30 p.m., and was down at Blackhead at daylight, but the sea was too heavy to work and 3he had to pass on to Pourere, arriving there at 2 p.m.; but here a heavy southerly gale set in, and she had to run up to the Kidnappers for shelter ; got down to Blackhead on Saturday, landed and took on board cargo, also worked at Pourere. On Sunday called at Kawakawa, Cape Palliser, and then proceeded on to Wellington, arriving as above. The steamers Manawatu and Stormbird left for WaDganui yesterday afternoon ; the former at 2.15, and the latter at 2.30. The steamer Wellington proceeded to Picton, Nelson, Taranaki, and Manukau at 12 o'clock last night. . The steamer Tui- s died yesterday evening at 7 o'clock for Kaikoura and Lvttelton. H.M.S.S. Sapphire arrived at Auckland at 1 a.m. yesterday from this port. The steamer Tararua will not leave for Melbourne via the West Coast till to-morrow afternoon. Messrs. W. and G. Tnrnbnll and Co.'s threemasted brigantine May, Captain Plumley, came into port yesterday forenoon with a light southerly wind, and anchored off the wharf at 10 a.m. She came from the Mauritius, via Dnnedin, with a cargo of sugar from the former place and a quantity of colonial produce from the latter. We have already given her report from the Mauritius to Dunedin. The May left Port Chalmers on Thursday last, and had strong north and north-east winds mostly throughout the passage. The May will load here for Hong We'notice in our advertisement columns that the ship Rakaia will finish her loading on Thursday next, and shippers aro requested to pass their entries at the Custom tlouso not later than that date. She left the Manukau on the 19th; and reached Taranaki on the 20th, but was telegraphed for the come back, and take the San Francisco mail ■ South." Got back to the Manukau bar at 2 a.m. on the 21st, and sailed an hour afterwards; arrived at New Plymouth again at 2 p.m. same day, and sailed at 3 p.m., making the run to Nelson in 12 hours ; wa3 away from there at noon on the 22nd; reached Picton at 9 p.m., and sailed at 2 o'clock yesterday morning, arriving hero as above. The Taranaki made some excellent steaming from the Manukau to Nelson, doing the distance, Including stoppage; at Taranaki, in a little less than 24 hours, but from Nelson to AVellington her machinery worked very stiffly, the cause of which was ascertained on her arrival to bo that a large quantity of kelp had wound round the shaft. It was removed before the steamer sailed South at 1 p.m. yesterday. •,- The following additional particulars regarding the wreck or the Isabella Ridley at Timaru are from Canterbury papers : -The Isabella Itidlcy is 233 tons register, and commanded by Captain McKinnon. She is an English vMsel, about twenty years of age, and she was bought in Ungland about three years ago by Messrs. Guthrio and Larnach, of Dunedin, since which time she has been trading between this colony and Newcastle. She now belongs to Messrs. Gibson and Clayton, of Dunedin, into whose hands she passed a short while back. The vessel is reported to bo covered' 'hyn policy of over £2OOO in the Now Zealand Company, and the cargo she has now on board, consisting of about 1200 bags of grain, is insured in the South British. The wreck and cargo was sold, and the hull, spars, rigging, &c. brought £75 ; grain cargo, £l2; coal, £6; chronometer, .£l3; anchors and chains lying in the roadstead, £l3. An official enquiry into the wreck will be held on Monday.
