GLENBERVIE-TERRACE CUTTING.
TO THE EDIIOB OF THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES,
Sib, —I shall feel obliged by your correcting a misstatement which appears in your issue of this day's date, signed " Robert Snoddy," wherein he would make it appear I called upon Mr. O'Neil and endeavored to obtain from that gentleman the difference of cost between the two proposed lines. I certainly called upon Mr. O'Neil, and asked him how far it would affect my fencing, and that gentleman with great courtesy walked up with me and pointed .out tha gradients. I asked him, in accordance with a resolution passed at a meeting of which I was chosen as chairman, whether he would meet the committee ? Mr. O'Neil replied he thought it would not be consistent with his duty, without specific instructions from the Mayor. Feeling sorry to trouble you.—l am, &o. M. L. Mabkb. Glenbervie-terraee, April 23.
