ENGLISH SHHTTNG, Sailed for Wellington.—XVcnniiigton, February 21 : Qneen of the West. February 27. To sail tor Wellington.—City of Madras, April 5 ; Itobina Dunlop, March 15. The barque Annie Mclhuiah sailed yesterday afternoon for Newcastle. The schooners Julius Vogel tor Picton, Star of the Pea for Havelock, ketch Thames and the cutter Hero, for Pelorus .Sound, sailed yesterday forenoon. Since the Wakatipu went South her rig has boon altered from that of a brig to a brigantine. The steamers Manawatu and Stormbird arc expected to arrive here to-morrow from Wanganui. The topsail schooner Dunedin left for Oamaru yesterday. The steamer Tui left for Foxton at S o clock last night. The Union Company’s s.s. Wakatipu. Captain A. Cameron, from the South arrived in port at 11.30 a.m. yesterday. She left Tort Chalmers at 1.45 p.m. on the ISth inst, and made Lyttelton at 7 a.m. on the 19th; sailed again at 0 o’clock that evening, and arrived here as above. Moderate weather, with high sea, was experienced themghout. The Wakatipu proceeded to Sydney at 3.15 p.m. yesterday. The English and San Francisco mail which arrived at Auckland yesterday in the K.M.S. Australia, three days before time, is expected to arrive here by the s.s. Taranaki. The Taranaki had to turn back for the mail from Taranaki to the Manukau, as she was on her way South yesterday morning, and she should arrive there late to-night. There is a probability of the steamer Wellington arriving from the South to-morrow. The repairs to the p.s. Luna are being pushed forward very rapidly, and a few days more will see her in running trim again. One of the boilers lias been taken out and landed on the breastwork opposite the Lion Foundry, her new owners being of opinion that she will obtain a speed of ten knots with one boiler, and give additional carrying space for cargo. Upon purchasing her from the Government Mr. Kennedy at once placed her in the hands of Mr. E. W. Mills; and his energetic manager, Mr. E, Seager, has lost no time’in carrying out the alterations and re pairs, both iron and wood, which reflects credit upon that gentleman and the firm lie represents. Mr. Seager contemplates placing her upon the Slip next week, and in all probability have her ready lor sea by the Ist of May.
