CRICKET.
A match was played on the Basin Bcservo yesterday between teams selected from the Post and Telegraph Offices respectively. The match resulted in an easy win for the Post Office by ono innings and 14 runs. The batting and bowling on the losing side was feeble, excepting perhaps that of Henry, who showed that he had bandied the willow before. The bowling of tho Post Office team was altogether too strong for their opponents, Glasson taking all the wickets but one in the first innings, and dividing them equally with Duncan in the second innings. Of the fielding on both sides, perhaps the loss said the.butter ; though Painter as long-stop and Duncan in the slips were exceptionally good. At 2 o'clock, at which time the, match had been won and lost, the team adjourned to the Caledonian Hotel, where they partook of a capital luncheon provided by Mr. Nicholls at a very short notice, Tisua;:; uur.
