(PEE PEE3S AGENCY.) Geahamstown, Friday. At the adjourned inquest on the body of Macdonald, who fell over a cutting on Monday night, a verdict of accidental death was returned.
Auckland, Friday. The Maori boy who lived sixteen months in the hot springs at Taupo is dead. _ The Rev. Mr. Cosh, of Sydney, has declined his call to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. The licensed victuallers last night passed a resolution in favor of starting an insurance company in case the existing companies refuse to reduce the rates. A public meeting will be called, and the public will be invited to take shares. It was agreed to appeal to the Government to allow hotels to open during a portion of Sunday. The association has £l5O to its credit in the bank.

Oamaed, Friday. A fatal accident occurred yesterday afternoon, by which a man named Benjamin Bailey lost his life. Deceased was carting straw with a team of bullocks, when one of them kicked, knocking him down; ■ while lying on the ground one of the wheels of the dray went over him. When picked up he was dead:. Dunedin, Friday. The City Council met this afternoon and resolved to reopen the Fever Hospital. A deputation from the Dunedin Hospital waited upon the Hon. D. Reid this afternoon, and asked the Government to sanction an expenditure of £3OOO for hospital improvements. He promised to bring the matter under the notice of the Government, and said that the Government intended to introduce a measure next session dealing with hospitals and charitable institutions.
