TWENTY-EIGHTH ANNUAL MEETING Notice is hereby given that the Twentyeighth Annnal Meeting of the members of the Society will be held in the Chamber of Commerce, Sydney Exchange, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon of THURSDAY, the 19th clay of APRIL, 1877, for the purpose of—1. Receiving the Report of the Directors on the business of the Society for the yer.r ended 81st December, 1876. 2. Electing two Directors in lieu of the Hon. John Fairfax, M.L.C., and the Hon. Saul Samuel, C.M.G., M.L.C., who retire in terms of By-law. V., and one of whom only is eligible for reelection. 3. Electing an Auditor in lieu of Robert Gilfillau, Esq., who retires, and (in terms of By-law X.) is ineligible for rei election. The following members have given the requisite notice that they are candidates for the seats to become vacant at the Board, viz. : The Hon. Saul Samuel, O.M.G, M.L.C. John Hay Goodlet, Esq, Benjamin Palmer, Esq. Frederick Lee, Esq. V, By law XIX provides that at any meeting “for the election of a Director or Directors, members not present may vote only by attorney, or by writing with their own-hand on some date subsequent to the publication of the names of all candidates for election a paper in the following form, showing for.whom they respectively vote; and this paper so written must be sent to the Head Office of the Society in Sydney, addressed to the Scrutineers, to the care of the Secretary; and no such paper shall have any effect if any part of it be printed, or should there he auy material error or omission in it, or if auy part of it be in the handwriting of any person other' than the member himself, except as in hereinafter provided, or if it, arrive after the commencement of the meeting, or if two or.more such papers be received from the same person without the last thereof expressly revoking all the other ones.
