The ordinary fortnightly meeting of the City Council will be held at i o'clock to-day. The sale of thei Kaiwarra tollgates has been altered to Wednesday, 4th April, instead of Tuesday, 3rd, as was at firsrt advertised. Notice is given by the churchwardens of St. Paul's and St. Peter's that the Easter day offertories will be given to the clergymen of the parishes respectively.' A scrutiny of the votes polled at the late election was held yesterday ;' but it is understood it has had noeffectuponthegeneralreßult. The official declaration of the poll will be made at noon to-day. At the dinner to be given to Messrs. Pollock and Young by their employes to-morrow evening, we believe that Mr. George Crawford has consented to take'the chair, and Mr. Beau-, champ (of Beaucharnp, Campbell, and Co.) the vice-chair.
There was a very good attendance at the Theatre Royal last night, for the benefit of Mrs. Scott-Siddons, who appeared as lolanthe in " King Rene's Daughter," and also in the comedy of "The Honeymoon" as Juliana. We are precluded from noticing the performance at greater length, owing to want of space. The same programme will be played this evening. • j

The only Resident MagisCourt yesterday was one in which a colored individual waa charged with being drunk; and assaulting the police. He pleaded not guilty, and as he had been already in the lock-up some hours, ax\d the offence not being of nnj aggravated type,- Sergeant Monaghan stated! that he did not wish to press the charge, no defendant was discharged with a caution.
