The Union Company's s.s. Taranaki, Captain Andrew, arrived in port yesterday morning at 6 o'clock from the North: She left the Manukau on the 15th inst., crossing the bar at noon. Arrived off New Plymouth, at 5 a.m. on the 16th, sailed at 9.30 am., and TBade a twelve hours'passage to Nelson. l>ft there at 10.45 a.m. on the 17th, and was at Picton that ,afternoon at 6.15. Was away again at 1 o'clock Jesterday ; morning, arriving here as above. Had ght southerly winds to Picton, thence to arrival strong S-E. wind with heavy rain and thick fog. We thank Mr. Edmlston, puraer, for report and flle3. The Taranaki will sail South this afternoon, taking excursionists for the Dunedin races. The s.s. Napier left RangiHkei at 10.30 a.ra. on Saturday, and arrived here after a twelve hours' passage. Th.e Napier will sail for Foxton to-day. i The Manawatu was towed round from the Patent Slip on Saturday by the Rangatira. She will sail for 'Wanganui on Wednesday. The Kennedy Is announced to sail for Nelson and West Coast, instead of the Charles Edward. J -The schooner Ruby, with 17 bales wool, returned to harbor from White Rock yesterday forenoon. " The s.s. Tui left Lyttelton at 9 p.m. on the 16th inst., and arrived at Amnri at 6 a.m. on the 17th: left at 9 a.m., and arrived at Kaikoura at 11 a.m. Sailed again at 4 p m. same day, and arrived in harbor At 2 a.m. yesterday. Had light easterly and S.S. winds throughout. The Tui will sail for Foxton this afternoon. "(The s-s. Rangatira, Captain Evans, arrived in harbor on Saturday afternoon at 3.15 o'clock, from Napfer; She left there at 1.30 p.m. on Friday last, and bad light variable winds throughout the passage. The Rangatira will sail for Napier and Poverty Bay thi* afternoon. , The s.s. Wanaka, Captain Malcolm, from Auckland and East Coast ports, arrived in harbor at 2 p.m. yesterday. Mr. J. R. Scott, purser, reports as follows: Left Auckland at 3.30 p.m. on the 14th inst., arrived St Tsuranga at 7 a.m. on the 16th, sailed at 6 p.m. sanYe'day.'and made Poverty Hay at 3.30 p.m. on the 14th; left at 9 o'clock; that night, and reached Napier at 6am. on the 17th: sailed at a3O p.m., and arrived here as above. Had SE. wind with heavy sea to Poverty Bay, from thence light variable winds with smooth water. The Wanaka will sail far Port Chalmers direct to-morrow. 'The s.s; Kiwi from the East Coast arrived here at 8.-o'clock yesterday morning with a cargo of wool. She left Napier at 6 o'clock on Friday afternoon, called at Caatlepoint. and left on Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock, arriving in port as above. The Kiwi will sail for Castlepoint this day. '
