The English Cabinet are considering a proposal from , Russia, which, is to the effect that if the European Powers, will sign a protocol urging the carrying out of the Conference programme, Russia will act with them, and demobilize her army. Lord Derby has promised an early decision.

It is reported that Lord Derby has replied to the proposal of Russia, that England accepts the principle of the proposal,' but amends the protocol, avoiding the phrases which would bind England's future action. Peace is restored in the Transvaal Republic. Sydney, Saturday. There is nothing authentic as to the new Ministry. The combined team concluded their innings for 245. Bannerman, not out, 165.
