A FALSE ACCUSATION.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE NEW ZEALAND'TIMES. Sir, —Some newspaper-accuses me of borrowing the idea of “punts in connection with Jhe .drainage scheme” from a local in its columns. .1, think, if the truth were known, this local emanated from one of many persons I have spoken to on the subject for weeks past, and you, sir, can bear me out in the fact that my letter was in your hands on Thursday last, while the. local did not! appear an til the Saturday following.—l am, &c., S.Y.Z.
