CHURCH OF ENGLAND GENERAL SYNOD.
(I’EOM OUR SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT.) Nelson, Friday. The Synod yesterday was occupied with two very long debates from 3.30 till midnight. The first arose on the Bishop of Auckland’s motion recommending the establishment of local branches of the English Temperance Society, which was agreed to.
