The schooner Cynthia, with timber from Pelorus Sound, came into harbor yesterday afternoon. Experienced on the trip heavy rains and "unsettled weather, with dense fogs. ' " ' The s.s. Rangatira came round from the Patent Slip yesterday and discharged her cargo of wool into the Jessie Readman. She will sail again for Napier to-day at noon.'' The brigantine Isabella has been again fitted out for another whaling .cruise. She is expected to sail this week. She has received a thorough overhaul, the ■whole of her decks' amidships being covered with lj inch red pine for cutting up the blubber on, and:i large boiler to hold 150 gallons has been built in brick for the purpose of trying out. The Union Company's steamship Taiaroa, Captain Pieterson, arrived in harbor yesterday afternoon from the South. E., the weather, being. intensely thick, hiding all objects at a distance Of 200 yards, and it was with some difficulty that the entrance to - the harbor was made out. The topsail s>:l>ooner ,young Dick,'Captain Armit, from Hobarton, arrived in port yesterday evening, and came to an. anchorage off the wharf at 7 p.m. Her passage' has- occupied twelve days; six of which were spent working through Cook Strait. Uneasiness to no small degree is now.belng.felt regarding the safety of the schooner Anne HID, which sailed from this port on the 16th January for Kaipara, and which, up to latest accounts, had not arrived there. The ■ topsail schooner Marmlon sailed from this port to the same dace in company with her, and Captain Hart says that the two schooners kept together to Cape Terawitl, where they parted company. The Marmlon arrived at Kaipara after a fair run, having experienced nothing uiuiauaVy severe on the passage. The Anne Hill Was not *ince- been' seerfiori heard' of. and when the M»)f»JOßj#t'Xalr»i-a_on last Saturday she had.not.put in an appearance.. The Anne, Hill is a hanawme.Hobarfon'Mfydon-er, of ,128 Jorfs register, and commanded by Capwltf Chamberlain.' -She came here from Adelaide with flour. Her non-arrival at Kaipara cannot be accounted for. It is known that there were some very heavy south-went and west gales on the coast since she left, but they were not of such a severe character as would lead to the conclusion that she could hare foundered, or met with some such Catastrophe,
