THE ENGLISH CRICKET MATCH, THE TEAM SELECTED.
A meeting of the English cricket match working committee was held at the Pier Hotel last evening ; Mr. Dixon in the chair. Itwas decided that the colors of the team ■hould be blue. . The Secretary' announced that Mr. Andrew Young had kindly offered to meet the team at the steamer and drive them to their hotel in a coach-and-six. Captain Williams, of the Avalanche, promised a bat to the highest scorer on the Wellington side. Mr. G. Dixon also offered a bat. Both offers were accepted with thanks. The' following twenty • two names were handed in by the Secretary, tinder authority of* the match committee,' as being team chosen:—Messrs. Armitage, Anson, Blacklock, Bell, Cross, Edmunds, Fulton, Garwood, Horwood, Hood, Kennedy, Lyster, Kaye, Knapp Lockett, Mason, Mace, Pavrington, W, J. Salmon, I. J. Salmon, J. A. Salmon; Speed, Werry; emergency',"'E ! vang, Fpley, KusselL . The general committee will meet on urgent business at the Pier Hotel at 5 o'clock this evening. . __^_^
