A new Dramatic Season will commence at the -above place of amusement this evening, under the lesseeship of Mr. Sam Howard, which is sufficient guarantee of its success. Mr. Howard during his connection with the Wellington public has done much towards the successful catering for amusements, and his liberality and perseverance to help all local charities and enterprises are wellknown. THIS EVENING the entertainment will be for the Benefit of the Rfgatta Fund, half the receipts of the-Theatre .will be given to swell the funds, and an excellent programme is announced, namely, NAVAL ENGAGEMENTS and THE WATERMAN, in which all the old favorites will appear. THE LINGARDS are engaged, and will appear in. a few days. Mr J. K. EMMET, who has met with such great success, will follow them, the night after their time is up ; and he will be also. immediately followed by the LYDIA HOWARDE OPERA BURLKSQUE COMPANY, Mrs. SCOTT-SID-DONS, the celebrated Tragedienne, and MESSRS. BAKER and FARRON ; and arrangements are now being made for the ITALIAN OPERA COMPANY to followthem, so that at this place of amusement the following five months are already filled up.
