A moderate amount of business has been done both In town and country, as the heavy loads continually leaving town- by the Wairarapa waggons serve to point out. • Brandies are firm at the advance noted last week; Kartell's and Hennessy’s quarters being now quoted at 9s to 9s. 6d per, gallon'; bases, 1 34 sto 35s 6d per case. Kerosene •low in stock with little coming forward, is worth '3s 6d to 8s 7d per gallon. Sugars, firm, at for IC. £44 to £44 10s, with .prospects of further advance. Salt scarce, and in the hands of one firm, who quote 100 s to 110s'. per ton for fine and coarse. Cement—Stocks gradually diminishing; and as large quantities- p,re required holders now quote 20s per barrel d.p. for White's and other approved brands. The price of Adelaide flour has shown no symptoms of and-present quotations remain at £lO 10s, with great supineness on the part of the bakers. . BY TELEGRAPH. . AUCKLAND, Friday. ' CHRISTCHURCH, Triday! Grain and produce quotations f.o.b. at Lyttelton : Harvest operations have commenced with every prospect of large yield and good quality. No transactions, in new grain have as yet taken place. Tor old grain quotations are nominal at, for oats, 2s. 3d.; barley, 3s, 9d. ; wheat, none ; flour, £l4 to £ls; bran, £4 ; sharps, £5 ; butter, lid. ; cheese, 7d.. DUNEDIN, Friday. Messrs. Royse, Stead, and Co. report the value of wheat nominal, in the absence of any offering. Oats .are,saleable at 2s. 2d. to 2s. 3d. per bushel for good feed-; 2s. 4d. for prime milling. Barley, feed is scarce and wanted, from 2s. 6d. to 2s. 9d. per bushel; malt-, ing, 3s. 9d. to 4s. 3d; Flour; £ls; in small bags, £l6 10s.
