COMMERCIAL.

The past week has been so broken by the Christmas holidays, that comparatively little business has been done, except among the retailers, consequently there is little to report, and as far .as we can gather, no change in the values of imported goods has taken place. • In colonial produce the same remark applies to some extent, the only article which has exhibited signs of unsteadiness being flour, quotations having dropped to £l6; £l6 10s per ton for Canterbury and Oamarau mills, in sacks. Stocks are not heavy, but the presence of a large shipment of Hobarton flour, and the advice of shipments from Adelaide; have not been without effect in this market. Cheese and butter are unaltered. ■’ Hams and bacon in good demand, and firm at 9d to lOd for bacon, lid to Is per lb for hams. Oats dull at 3s tp 3s 3d per bushel for milling sorts ; ordinary feed oats meet with no inquiry at 2s Sd. Maize scarce, and worth 5s 3d per bushel. BY TELEGRAPH. AUCKLAND. Friday. Mr. Buckland reports:—Fat cattle, 26s to 29s per hundred pounds ; mutton, 2d to 2Jd per pound ; good quality lambs 8s to 10s 6d, very choice 12s 8d to 14s. Mr. Binney reports:—Adelaide flour, £18; Star, £l7; superfine,- £l6 : sharps, £8 10« ; bran, £7 ; oatmeal, £14 ! ; bacon and hams, 8d tolOd; cheese, none; bailey, 3s 6d. !
