The appointment of Thomas Maofarlane, Esq,, as a'certified accountant in bankruptcy, under the Debtors- and Creditors Act, 1876, for the Northern Judicial District, has been hailed with considerable satisfaction by the commercial community in Auckland. The necessity for such' an 3 appointment in- Wellington is apparent, as some little difficulties have already arisen owing to there being no such official in our district.
