Captain Irvine informs the Wanganui Chronicle that the schooner Theresa got ashore going Into the Patea river on : Sunday, 19th ultimo, but after discharging about 7000 ft. of timber she floated off again by that night's tide. She first grounded on the bar, and afterwards drifted inside on to the beach. The p.s. Lyttelton arrived here at 4 a.m. yesterday from Blenheim, which port she left at 5 o clock the previous evening. She sailed again for Blenheim yesterday afternoon. The schooner Jane Anderson, with a cargo of wool for the ship Jessie Headman, arrived, here yesterday afternoon from Napier. • _ . The s.s. Napier sailed for Eangitikei at: 7 o clock last night. . - The schooner Aspasia, Captain Thompson, from the East Coast, arrived in harbor yesterday with a cargo of wool. Taranaki, and at 0 o'clock she was propelled for the first time by her new machinery round to Evans Bay, where, after adjusting her compasses, she took a run down the harbor and returned to the wharf at 11.30 a.m. At 3.30 o’clock In the afternoon she again left the wharf with about 150 people on board, the fair sex being represented in large numbers, and proceeded down the harbor, round Somes Island, ahd then headed out towards the heads. She left. there at 7.20 a.m. on the 29th, and crossed the bar at 7.50 a.m. Experienced light variable winds with fine weather and calm sea the whole trip. She brought a full cargo of wool and other produce, and will sail again lor Wanganui this afternoon at 3 o’clock.

The schooner Aspasia, Jrom the East Coast, with a cargo of wool, arrived here yesterday at noon. The barque Malay sailed from Lyttelton for this port on .Wednesday last. , The schooner Elizabeth arrived In harbor yesterday afternoon from Pelorns Sound.

The s.s. Hinemoa arrived at Napier at 11 o’clock yesterday,’ Captain Fairchild telegraphs to the effect that a hard E.N.E. wind was experienced all the way, and that the vessel was everything In a head wind. The s.s. Stormbird, Captain Doile, left Wanganui at 8.45 p.m. on- Wednesday, crossed the bar at 9.15 p.m., and arrived here at 8.45 p.m. yesterday. Experienced fine weather throughout. The Stormbird returned to Wanganui at C o’clock last evening.
