Stocks of sugar have been largely increased by the arrival of the John Knox, from Sydney; but prices remain unaltered. Sperm candles are firm at lojd. per lb. Kerosene, light stocks, for which holders now ask Is/ lid. to 2s. in bond. The arrival of the St. Leonards from London yesterday, with a full : cargo for this port, will add to our already large stocks, and tend to keep down prices. Colonial produce has also moved off but slowly, with slight variations in value. Keg butter dull, at od. - per lb. Canterbury cheese is in fair supply, at 10d. per lb. Bacon and hams unaltered, stocks of Canterbury cure being ample for present demand. The Southern mills have made a further advance in their price of flour of 10s. per ton, and holders here now ask £ls per ton for sacks, and £l6 10s, for bags, in trade lots. Oats show signs of hardening, and are quoted at 2s. lOd. to 3s, Id. Maize, 4s. 3d. per bushel.
