Arrived : The N.Z.S. Co.’s ship Waimate, from London. Made Stewart Island on October 26, after a passage of 83 days from the Scilly Isles. Moderate and fine weather characterised the pasage throughout. She brings a large number of passengers and a full cargo. One of the passengers, a youth named Frank Tapling, died from coma on September 39; he had been subject to fits, Sailed : The Wellington, for the North, at 5 p.m. Passenger for Manakau: Miss Harris. HOKITIKA, Tuesday. The Albion arrived from Sydney yesterday. She was tendered at 8 o'clock last night, and sailed for Wellington. She brings 130 tons cargo for all ports. Passengers For Wellington : Miss Penn, Messrs. Henderson, Marks, and Martin. For Lyttelton: Mrs. Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Strange, Mrs. Inglis and family (3), and Miss Hughes. The topsail schooners Bonnie Lass, from Picton, and the Shepherdess, from Pelorua Sound, arrived here yesterday. _ . . . The s.s. Hlnemoa arrived here from Napier at nine o’clock yesterday forenoon, making the run m 19* hours. She sailed last evening for Ports, taking a number of members of the Legislature to their homes. ~ . Thes.s.Kiwi, from Flaxbourne, with 400 bales of wool on board for transhipment to the ship Zealandia, arrived here at 10 o’clock yesterday forenoon. She left at seven o’clock the previous evening, and came up against a fresh N.'VV. wind. •• : Captain Johnston left here in charge of the s.s. llinemoa last night, Captain Fairchild having te take the s.s, Stella North with the members. The Stella left here shortly after midnight for Picton, Nelson, New Plymouth, and Mannkau. _ . The Union Company’s steamer Ladybird, Captain Andrew, arrived here from Northern porta at 7 a.ra. yesterday. She left .the Manakau at 4 p.m. on the 28th nit., and arrived off New Plymouth at 7 a.m. on the 29th; was under way for Nelson 3 hours afterwards, and reached there at 4 o'clock next morning. Sailed at 3 o'clock p.mi ’same-day, and was in Picton at 1 a.m. on the 30th; remained there an hour, when she left for this port, arriving here as above. Fine weather was met with throughout the passage. She sailed for Southern ports at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. The ketch Otaki arrived here from Otaki yesterday.
