The iron barque Baldovau, which left New Zealand in ballast for Valparaiso on 7th April, has not since been heard of. The City of New York arrived at 2 a.m. The cable steamer steamer Agnes ,also arrived from Singapore. Melbourne, Wednesday A burglary was effected at the residence of J. T. Smith, and money to the amount of over £IOO stolen. The Arawata leaves for the Bluff to-morrow, and the Ringarooma, with the Suez mails, on Monday, via Hokitika. Singapore, Tuesday. The Council, under the Presidency of Prince Milan, has resolved to fight till Servia and Bosnia are independent. On September 28 Tchernaiff crossed the River Morava above Alexanitz and attacked the Turks. Both claimed the victory. Harvatzich and his corps threatened the Turkish rear. The Chinese difficulty is settled. Indemnity paid to Margary’s family.
