The schooner Julius Vogel, from Kaipara, arrived here last night. She left there on Friday last, and had light easterly winds with fine weather down. The ship Zealandia finished the discharge of her general cargo last week. All that now remains to be put out are the cable and a small quantity of railway iron. She commenced to load for London on Friday last, and has now on board about 180 casks tallow. The ketch Reliance, Captain Swede, from Kaipara. arrived here yesterday afternoon with a cargo of 44 000 ft. sawn timber for Messrs. Greenfield and Stewart. She left Kaipara last Friday, and had light easterly wind the whole way. Spoke the Pakeha, from Kaipara, bound to Dunedin; wished to be reported When the Reliance left Kaipara there were six vessels loading there, hut none of them were for W Theschooners Marmion for Kaipara and Shepherdess for Pelorus Sound sailed yesterday morning. The p.s. Lnna will leave here this morning for the purpose of [surveying a shoal reported off Baring Head-by Pilot Holmes. Our cablegrams state that the steamer Agnes, from Singapore, has arrived at Sydney. The Agnes is a cable steamer, and from Sydney she will come to this port to lay the new Cook Strait cable, which is at present in the ship Zealandia now lying at the wharf. The Agnes is expected to arrive here next week. The p.s. Manawatn, Captain Harvey, arrived here yesterday afternoon at 2.30 from Wanganui after a run of 11J hours from the Corporation Wharf. She left there at 3 o'clock yesterday morning; towed the schooners Oreti and Awaros over the bar which she crossed at 3.30, and arrived here as above. Fine calm weather was met with. She will sail for Wanganui to-day at noon. As the Stormbird was proceeding down the Wanganui river yesterday afternoon on her voyage to this port she had the misfortune to strike on a snag and lose the three blades of her propeller. The river is very shallow at present; bu*. as there is a spare set of blades on board the steamer, which will be fitted on at low water, the detention it Is expected will not exceed twelve hours. She has 150 sheep on board for Messrs. Pollock and Young. The mail steamer Australia brought to this port a large quantity of bananas from Kanrtavau. and from San ' Francisco several tons of apples and onions. -While the vessel was in port she took 120 tons coal out of the hulk India. She sailed for Lyttelton and Port Chalmers at 8.30 a.m. yesterday.
