Trade has been exceedingly dull during the past week, and there are consequently few flange report in the values of imported goods. Kerosene! low in stock, and is firm at 2s. Cd. per gallon. Wallace held his regular monthly sale of stock at the llutt Market on Wednesday last. There was a large attendance, attracted no doubt by the show of entires. Young Lofty was withdrawn at £l6o* a pen of cattle sold at £4 2s. 6d. to £6 per head for cows; a bull, £5 10s.; and several useful horses at £8 to £22105. The market requires more encouragement from the breeders of stock, and hotter pens should bo erected and accommodation afforded for conducting the market. BY TELEGRAPH. NEW PLYMOUTH, Friday. At Courtney’s cattle sale 63 head of provincial cattle were yarded. Cows with calf at foot fetched from £8 to £10; two-year-olds, £5 7s. Cd.; yearlings, £2 7s. 6d. to £3 12s. 6d. 87 head of Auckland cattle were sold. Bulls realised £2l; cows, £l3 to £l4 7s. 6d.: heifers, £5 7s. 6d. to £l2 10s.; inferior cattle from £4 2s. 6d. to £7 155.; fat sheep from 15s. to 15s. 3d. AUCKLAND, Friday. Canterbury bacon realised at auction to-day from 9d. to lOd. Canterbury potatoes, ss. 6d. Mr. Blnney reports:—Flour, £13105.; bran. £6; pollard. £C; oatmeal, £l3 10s.; barley, 2s. 6d.; oats, 2s. 7d.; bacon and hams, 10d.; cheese, 9id,; butter, Is.; maize. 4s. 6d Mr Buckland reports;—Fat cattle 30s. to 355. 6d. per lOOlbs.; fat sheep in wool, 3d. to 3&d.; shorn, 2Jd.; lambs, 6s. to 15s. DUNEDIN, Friday: Wheat continues scarce and firm at from ss. to Cs. according to sample. Oats freely saleable, 2s. to 2s. 2d. for inferior to ordinary, and up to 2s, 3d. for good heavy feed; milling and seed samples may bo quoted; at 2s. 4d. Barley is in very limited demand at 4s. to 4s. 6d. for good to prime malting; inferior almost unsaleable ; quotations nominal.
