Tenders are required for the reclamation and formation of the following streets in the Napier Town Swamp, viz.;— Monroe-street, Thackeray-street, Raffles-street, Sale-street, Owen-street, and Earaday-street. The estimated amount of earthwork is about 62,000 cubic yards. Sealed tenders for the whole, including three box culverts, endorsed “ Tender for street reclamation,” to be transmitted to the Town Clerk’s office, Napier, at or before NOON of NOVEMBER 1, 1876. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted. A deposit of 2 per cent, calculated on the amount of the tender, is to accompany each, and no tender will be received without this deposit. This is to notify that DUNCAN MACARTHUR, of Invercargill, in the province of Otago, Inspector of Forests, did on the twenty-third day of August instant deposit at the office of the Patent Officer, in the Colonial Secretary’s Office, in Wellington, a specification or instrument in writing, under his hand and seal, particularly describing and ascertaining the nature of the said Invention, and in what manner the same is to be performed ; and that, by reason of such deposit the said Invention is protected and secured to him exclusively for the term of six calendar months thence next ensuing. And I do further notify that the said Duncan Macarthur has given notice in writing, at my office, of his intention to proceed with his application for Letters Patent for the said Invention, and that I have appointed FRIDAY, the twenty-second day of DECEMBER next, at noon, at my office, to hear and consider the said application and all objections thereto; and I do hereby require all persons having an interest in opposing the grant of such Letters Patent to leave, on or before the eighteenth day of December next, at my office in Wellington, particulars in writing of their objections to the said application, otherwise they will be precluded from urging the same.
