Administration is postponed for two months, as Gordon might possibly have been picked up. . The steamer Southern Cross broke her shaft and lost her propeller in a south-east gale off Cape Schanck. She put pack to Hobarton. The Southern Cross when she broke her shaft was in great danger; but a barque passed her, taking no notice of her distress signals. .
