To Gentlemen engaged in Mercantile Pursuits, Tradesmen, Mechanics, and Others, in want OF CHOICE BUILDING SITES In one of the most healthy Suburbs of Wellington, -within four minutes’ walk of the Lower Hutt Railway Station and Valentine’s Hotel. Messes, bethune & hunter have the pleasure to announce that they have been instructed to sell by public auction at their Rooms, Customhouse-quay, on Monday, 9th October, at 2 o’clock, the Township of ALICETOWN, consisting of about 195 of the choicest and most convenient building allotments that have ever before been offered to the Public of Wellington. The terms upon which the Sections will be sold are most liberal, as the proprietors have determined to sell without reserve. Intending purchasers are therefore recommended not to lose an opportunity of securing desirable and healthy building sites, free from all City Rates and Taxes. The Auctioneers feel it unnecessary to remind the public of the rapidly increasing value of Building Allotments near the Railway station at the Lower Hutt, where the Government workshops are in course of erection and fast approaching completion, where some hundreds of mechanics will be employed. It must therefore be evident that as an investment the property to be offered is well worthy of attention. It is understood that the Government intend to put on early and late trains as settlement at the Hutt increases, which must tend to more than double and treble the values of such sites. The land situated in the township is held under the Land Transfer Act, and the terms upon which it will be sold are—one-third of the purchase money in cash, the balance by bills in three equal sums drawn at 6, 12, and 18 months respectively, bearing interest at j seven per cent, per annum, with the right re- | served for any purchasers desiring to complete their title to retire bills under full rebate at any time during their currency. IMPORTANT LAND SALE. TO CAPITALISTS, TRUSTEES, TIMBER MERCHANTS, AND THE PUBLIC GENERALLY. IN TOWN AND COUNTRY. LAND UPPER HUTT, TINAKOEIROAD, AND KARORI. MR. J. H. WALLACE will sell by public auction at his saleroom, Hunter-street, Wellington, on Thursday, October 12, at 2 o’clock p.m. — Six valuable timber sections in the Upper Hutt, adjoining the property of Jas. Cruickshank, Esq.; and others, and being sections 130, 131, 111, 136, 137, 138; 100 acres each. These sections when cleared of the exceedingly valuable timber now upon them, comprise some of the best agricultural land to be found in this part of the colony, and afford an opportunity to any industrious settlers or to a company to make a fortune. They will be sold separately, and possess considerable advantages. The Railway passes through sections 130 and 131 ; sections 141, 136, 137, 138, adjoin each other, with the Mungaroa stream running through them, and with a road frontage. ■ ' Intending purchasers can view these valuable sections, by proceeding by railway to the Upper Hutt, the land being only a short distance from the Upper Hutt station. ■ Terms of payment liberal— Viz., a deposit of 20 per cent.; the balance in three years, bearing 8 per cent, interest.
